Mathematics Mathematics is an integral part of most branches of engineering. All engineers need to be able to formulate practical engineering problems in mathematical terms. They must also be capable of solving the mathematical models, if necessary with the aid of a computer, and of interpreting the solutions and understanding the practical implications. It is important to maintain the correct balance between theory and practice, analysis and synthesis, and logical solutions and intuition. This education in mathematical modeling is the main task of departments of applied mathematics and mathematics at tertiary institutions. Mathematics and applied mathematics take up a significant part of the first two years of engineering study. For this reason, courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of engineers. In the first year, the emphasis is on differentiation and integration, vector calculus and linear algebra on the one hand and on the other hand, statics and the dynamics of a particle. In the second year a study is made of differential equations, Fourier series, Laplace transforms, partial differentiation, complex analysis and numerical techniques. At the same time, applications of these techniques that are of interest to the different branches of engineering are dealt with. Moreover, the faculty is also active, teaching Mathematical Methods in Signal Processing. To meet the challenges and needs of teaching mathematics, we have best of the teaching faculty available in the department. Two of the faculty members are doctorate, whereas two more are reading for doctoral research. Rest of staff in mathematics is already done with Master of Philosophy. The important most factor to consider is experienced teaching faculty being available. Physics Technically, engineering is applied physics. Physics is the science of figuring out how things work, while engineering is the practice of making things that work. Engineering students should not only be aware that physics has direct application to engineering, but also that the problem solving and thinking skills developed through learning physics are the same skills they will need to use in their profession as an engineer. The faculty of Physics at ADIT is again important to notice, as one of the faculty members is already a Doctorate in Physics, whereas the other is reading for Doctoral Research. Language and Communication Skills The success of an endeavour hinges on the ability to communicate effectively in today's fast paced life, everyone is asked to do more with less. In such a scenario effective communication holds the key. Effective communication centres round the usage of words, speed of delivery of words, pitch modulation and body language. Using the right tools to communicate the right messages at the right time can salvage crises and motivate people to work towards success. Truly said, communication works but for those who work at it. In the existing globalization scenario, most of the Information Technology, I.T Enabled Services, management institutes, public and private sector, multi-national Companies, Union Public Service Commission, and State Public Service Commission are search for a right and suitable fresher for executive posts. People in organizations usually spend 75 percent of their daily time on communication through writing, reading, listening, speaking, inter-debate etc. Effective communication is an essential component for organization success, whether it is the interpersonal intra group organization or external levels. The faculty of Language and Communication Skills at ADIT is associated with multiple subject teaching, centering communication skills. Subjects like Communication Skills (UG), Communication and Research Skills (PG) and Contributor Personality Development (UG) are taught by the faculty of Language and Communication Skills. Moreover, it is a department associated with college outsourced facilities and training & placements too. The faculty comprises of one Doctorate and one Master of Philosophy.
